A gamified calendar: XP for finished hours, not for opening the app

Cutline turns your calendar into a game you can only win by doing the work: every finished time block earns XP (10 XP per 15 minutes), a day where every block is done earns a 100 XP bonus, and XP adds up to levels with ranks from Rookie to Legend.

The rules of the game

Most "gamified" productivity apps reward you for using the app. Cutline only rewards what happened in your week.

Why it works

Games work because the feedback is immediate and the score is honest. A calendar usually gives neither: you plan, the week happens, and nothing tells you how it went. In Cutline the feedback arrives the second you tick a block, and the score cannot be gamed by planning more.

The second reason is other people. On the Arena your finished hours sit on a weekly board next to friends and people like you. It resets every Monday, so last week's leader has to do it again.

Questions

How do I earn XP in Cutline?

By finishing time blocks: 10 XP per 15 minutes of a finished block (at least 10 XP per block), plus 100 XP for every day where all blocks are done.

Can I lose XP?

No. Unticking a block you ticked by mistake takes its XP back, but missing days or blocks never removes XP you earned.

What are the ranks?

Rookie, Grinder, Operator, Closer, Shark, Mogul and Legend, in that order, as your level rises.

Is the leaderboard public?

Only if you join the Arena. It shows your finished hours and blocks for the week, never the titles or details of your blocks, and you can leave at any time.
